After a luxury night continue your journey for 280 miles passing through the southern hospitality Of Oklahoma through the panhandle of Texas until you rich Amarillo. Wake up to a great breakfast at the big Texan, even steak if you didn't attempt the 72oz gut buster the night before. Then drive via the world famous cadillac ranch the 100 miles into New Mexico and Tucumcari where you will be staying at the Route 66 landmark the Blue Swallow motel. Have a coffee with Bill before starting your journey to historic Santa Fe which is the capital of New Mexico stopping off at Santa Rosa for breakfast in one of its many American and Mexican style diners. You are now making your way through the Mexican belt of journey so be sure to grab some of the great food on offer. If you have a time it is well worth following the old alignment of the road via Exit 294 at Canoncito on the Pecos Trail. Continue on the Pecos Trail via Bernalillo on the old Route 66 to historic Albuquerque. Albuquerque is a great place to stop fwith a great Central Avenue and an amazing 66 diner where the servers are all dressed as cartoon characters. The hotel you are staying is in the old town with a quiet hotel bar and more swanky night venue that is the place to be in Albuquerque.
