Rise early as you have lot of sightseeing whilst you cover the 300 miles to Holbrook. If you have time visit the Petrified Forest National Park where the trees have been crystallised over millions of years into quartz stone. Once you arrive at Holbrook you will stay in the Wigwam Village which was created as a novelty in the 1940s and is still run by the same family. Leave your unique wigwam behind for the exciting 130 mile journey to the Grand Canyon via some spectacular scenery including forest and great trading posts like Williams. After leaving the Grand Canyon, for your penultimate night you will be staying in Barstow on East main street which was part of the original Route 66. Good photo shoots at the old Route 66 motel which I believe is up for sale. Hope to make this hotel available soon for your trip when it is modernised.
